Roy Walker

Roy George Walker, Age 90, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2008, at Michalene’s in Ripon.

Roy was born on July 3, 1918, in the Township of Green Lake, WI the son of Earl and Kathryn (Crook) Walker. He was educated in the Green Lake Schools. In his sophomore year he transferred to Ripon High School and graduated in 1937. In 1939, he married Celia Dykstra of Randolph, WI, and they had three children. Roy was an avid fisherman and hunter; he planted hundreds of trees, flowers and bushes. Because of his love of gardening, he left this world a better place. Roy was a superintendent of construction for the C.D. Smith Company of Fond du Lac until his retirement. He was a member of Hillside Assembly Church in Ripon.

Survivors include his wife, Celia Walker of Green Lake; their children, Virginia (Tom) Jensen of Neenah, Patricia Hansen of Markesan, Nancy (Gordon) Billings of Black River Falls; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris (Harold) Witchow of Ripon; and several nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation for Roy G. Walker will be held from 1-2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the Hillside Assembly Church in Ripon.

Funeral service for Roy G. Walker will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the Hillside Assembly Church with the Reverend Donald Deike officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
