Ruth Mary Dumdie

Ruth Mary Dumdie, 83, of 570 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, 2002, at Michalene's in Ripon.

She was born Sept. 6, 1918, in the State of Washington, a daughter of George and Blanche (Smart) Weiss. Ruth graduated from school in Tomah, and attended one year at Ripon College.
On Sept. 12, 1939, she married Carl Otto Dumdie, and her life love was to be a partner to Carl. Mrs. Dumdie was a member of Our Saviour's United Church of Christ, Ripon, and the Women's Guild. She had been a Green Lake County 4-H leader for many years, as well as a Green Lake County Women's Farm Bureau Member.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Mayer of Lakewood, Colo., and Carol (James) Beier of Ripon; five grandchildren, Kevin Mayer and Shane Mayer of Lakewood, Colo., and Tammi Beier, Traci (Patrick) Merrill, and Terri Beier (Aaron Otto), all of Ripon; three great-grandchildren, Hunter James Merrill, Cody Patrick Merrill, and Seth Roy Otto; and one sister, Nell (Jack) Murray of Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on Feb. 8, 2000; her parents; and one brother.

Services: The funeral service for Ruth M. Dumdie will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Our Saviour's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Rebecca A. Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Monday, Jan. 14, one hour prior to the service at the church. A memorial has been established.
