Ruth R. Gitzel, age 88, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Fountain View Care Center.
Ruth was born on September 22, 1918, in Athens, WI, the daughter of Christ and Pauline (Steinke) Held. She was educated in Athens. On October 16, 1943 she married Robert Gitzel. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Hillside Assembly Church in Ripon.
Survivors include her children, Robert W. (Joan) Gitzel of Eldorado, Bonnie (Roger) Cotton of Springfield, MO, Kathleen Gitzel of Oshkosh and Donald C. (Kathie) Gitzel of Malone, WI; grandchildren, Robben (Amy) Gitzel of Ishpeming, MI, Paula (Greg) Deike of Ripon, Christy (Jason) Stover of Black Creek, WI and Sarah and Andrew Cotton both of Springfield, MO; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Elmer (JoAnn) Held of Rockford, IL and many nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation for Ruth Gitzel will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Hillside Assembly Church, Ripon.
Funeral Service for Ruth Gitzel will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Assembly Church with Reverend Donald Deike officiating. Interment will be held in Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale. Memorials may be given to Hillside Assembly Church, 656 W. Oshkosh St. Ripon, WI 54971.
