Ruth Elizabeth Gransee, age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away on July 17, 2014, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Ruth was born June 13, 1920, in Ripon, the daughter of Leo William and Thelma Melissa (Rutz) Timm. She was a graduate of Ripon High School, Class of 1938. In 1953, Ruth was united in marriage to Harley Gransee in Ripon. She worked as a clerk for Ace Hardware for several years and then worked for Scharfs Office Supply. Ruth was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon, where she also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Ladys Eagles Auxillary, Ripon Lioness; she was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues. Ruth loved to dance and attended dances well into her later years. She excelled in music in high school, where she played the French Horn. Ruth also loved to play the piano and she played for the Badger Symphony Orchestra after high school. She was a Girl Scout Leader and loved children. Above all, Ruth loved her family and spending time with them was the greatest gift of her life.
Survivors include her children: Peggy Schroeder, Barneveld, WI, Barbara (Clint) Wiesmueller, Ripon, WI, and Patrice (Tim) Magdanz, Berlin, WI; grandchildren: Chris (Tami) Schroeder, Verona, WI, Susan Schroeder (Brian Sandwick), Madison, WI, Kathy Schroeder, Madison, WI, Emily (Jon) Stogbauer, Oshkosh, WI, Cody Wiesmueller, Ripon, WI, Elizabeth Magdanz, Neenah, WI, Hunter Magdanz, Berlin, WI; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; sister, Romaine Miller, and niece, Roxanne Schultz.
Visitation for Ruth Gransee will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014, from 10:00 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971
Memorial Service for Ruth Gransee will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery, in the Village of Rosendale. A memorial is being established.
