Ruth E. Kapp, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on November 22, 2014, at Fountain View Care Center.
Ruth was born March 25, 1922, in Green Lake, the daughter of William and Emma (Kelm) Zimmerman. Ruth married Elmer Kapp November 1, 1941. She was a devoted house wife and homemaker and spent many loving years with Elmer until his death in 2004. Ruth attended The Bluffton School as a youth where she had become very fond of the sport of baseball. She was often noted for her speed and long legs. She played rough, and once even acquired a concussion, though this did not discourage her from the sport. As a homemaker, it is said that, Ruth made the most perfect chocolate chip cookies, as every cookie she made looked as though they were made with a mold.
Survivors include her children, Calvin Kapp of Princeton, WI, Carol Kapp and Kathleen (David) Sprague of Ripon, WI, and Suzanne (Donald) Damerow of Markesan, WI; sister, Ione Pischke of Berlin, WI; granddaughters, Tracey (Brad) Powell of Portage, WI, Linda (David) Anderson of Princeton, WI and Natasha Damerow of Argyle, WI; grandsons, Douglas (Kim) Kapp of Neenah, WI, Benjamin Sprague (fiancée` Mandy Canovan) of Ripon, WI, Adam (Tonia) Sprague of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Nicholas Damerow of Markesan, WI. Ruth is preceeded in death by her husband Elmer and her sister Jessie Dahms.
Visitation for Ruth Kapp will be held Friday, November 28, 2014, from 3 6:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 10 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Ruth Kapp will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Pastor Dennis Meier will officiate. Interment will follow at Bluffton Cemetery in the Town of Brooklyn. Memorials can be made out to Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
