Ruth Lorraine Malzhan, age 95, of Ripon, WI, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020, at Whispering Pines in Ripon.
Ruth was born April 25, 1924 to Frederick and Alvenia (Miller) Dahlke. She was working at Ripon Knitting Works when she and Vernard Malzhan married October 12, 1946. Ruth worked summers at Green Giant Canning Co. to help supplement the income for their growing family. After retirement, she worked at Pamida in Ripon for 10 years. Her full-time job was as a homemaker and raising 11 children.
Surviving children are: Margie Walker (Roger Washkovick); twins, Karlon Malzhan and Karen (John) Rohr, Eugene, Roger (Shari), Dale; twins, Jayne and Wayne, Janet (Dennis) Darnick. Grandchildren are: Sheryl (Ken) Hable; twins, Kerry (Kate) and Terry (Marjean) Gable, Suzanne (Randy) McCoy, Melissa (Jason) Jacobson, Christopher (Kieu Trvong) Thomas, Danielle, Brian, and Michael (Amy) Malzhan, Tammy (Wayne) Williams, Rebecca (Nicholas) Zolper, Rachel Liggett, Angela (Nicholas) Hawley. Ruth is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and another expected in July. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ruth in death are her parents; her husband, Vernard (2012); sons, Gary (1997) and Lester (2014); brothers, Earl, Laurence (Margaret), Frederick (Helen); sister, Edith (Dale) Whitlock and son-in-law, Jim Walker.
Visitation for Ruth L. Malzhan will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9-11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Interment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery in the Village of Rosendale.
A memorial is being established in her name.
One less wise soul on this earth, but one brighter star in the night sky. She had 95 years on this earth, and she made a difference in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rest in peace. - Melissa Jacobson
