Ruth Mae (Rossow) Mohr, age 82 of Sun City, AZ, died on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Boswell Hospital after a battle with cancer, and as was her wont, volunteered her remains to science.
Ruth was born, March 22, 1926 at home near Princeton, WI, the daughter of Avolt and Olga Rossow. She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Princeton on May 23, 1926, and later confirmed in April 1939. After high school, Ruth attended Valparalso in Indiana and Concordia in River Forest, IL, obtaining a three year teaching certificate. She spent 7 years in Lutheran schools and 20 years in public schools teaching classes while attending night school to complete her four-year degree in elementary education. In 1947, Ruth married Ralph Mohr whom she had known from the church choir and they had four children. Ruth had numerous volunteer duties in Sun City including Braille, Bible classes, and the LWML at Fountain of Life and many other volunteer duties at the Good Shepherd Retirement Center in Sun City, AZ. She also enjoyed helping neighbors and friends whenever needed.
Survivors include her four children, Ricky (special friend, Barb Priske) Mohr, of Green Lake, Rue Welker of Albuquerque, NM, Ramsay (Ginny) Mohr of Hotchkiss, CO, and Robin (Deb) Mohr of Cary, IL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, three sisters, Junie Loomiller of Longmont, CO, Alice Fernandez of Phoenix, AZ, and Lorna Otto of Green lake, WI; two sisters-in-law, Edythe Schure of Markesan, WI and Dorothy Mohr of Shawano, WI. Also surviving Ruth are many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 58 years Ralph Mohr.
