Ruth Olga Pommering, age 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Ripon Medical Center.
Ruth was born March 9, 1924, in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Harry and Olga (Hoffman) Lawrence. She graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. In 1951, Ruth married Lowell Pommering at the Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. Ruth worked as an administrative assistant for Baker-Koffarnus-Simmons accounting office for 37 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews on the farm. Ruth will always be remembered for her homemade brownies.
Survivors include one brother-in-law, Charles Pommering of Ripon; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Lee and Arlene Roskos both of Ripon; nieces, Joanne Pike, Sandra Olig, Sheryl (Kalton) Bauman, Carla Pommering, Kathryn (Jack) Patterson; great nieces and nephews, Donald Pike, Daniel (Michelle) Pike, Kenneth (Tammy) Olig, Kay (Allan) Miller, Kim (Remco) Steinmetz, Michael Bauman, BobbiJo (Chad) Weber, Kelisha Pommering and Preston Mullowney; great-great-nieces and nephews, James Pike, Jessica Pike, Spencer Lameka, Adam, Jacob and Kerri Olig, Alexander Steinmetz, Mathias and Zander Weber, Aiden Pommering, Jackie and Kathleen Patterson and Bryce and Brett Miller and her beloved pet and companion, Jake. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lowell in 2009; son, John Lowell Pommering in 2003; infant sister; one brother, Frederick Lawrence and one nephew, Frederick Lawrence.
Visitation for Ruth Pommering will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 9 – 10:30 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral service for Ruth Pommering will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 10:30 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Donald Deike will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethel Reeds Corner Cemetery in the Town of Metomen. A memorial is being established.
