Ruth Priebe

Ruth Alice Priebe, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Wolverton Glen Assisted Living facility in Ripon after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was able to remain in her home until the last few days of her life, which was very important to her.
Ruth was born on June 11, 1926 in Budsin, WI the daughter of Theodore and Martha (Blader) Priebe. She taught dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Milwaukee, and then she went to work for the real estate firm of Frisch, Shay, and Taylor in Milwaukee, where she worked for over 50 years. She was a 75 year old secretary to her 95 year old boss. This was truly a remarkable achievement. Ruth was dedicated to the Lord, her job, her family, and her house, and all her time centered on those things. She enjoyed eating lunch at Heinemann’s Restaurant several times a week while working in Milwaukee. She never took a bag lunch, and lunch at Heinemann’s was part of the routine. Ruth took great pride in her home in Brookfield, WI, where she lived for over 40 years, and greatly enjoyed maintaining the large wooded yard. While her mother was alive, she would drive to Ripon to visit her every other weekend, for many years. Ruth was a Packer fan, and enjoyed a drink (just one though) when she went for a dinner out. She kept her dry sense of humor to the end of her life. In 2006, Ruth moved to Ripon after retiring from Frisch, Shay, and Taylor in Milwaukee. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Survivors include a nephew, Ted (Nancy) Priebe; nieces, Jane (Steve) DeVault, Ruth (Larry) Jahns; and nephew, Tom (Heather) Bandt; brother-in-law, Deforest Bandt; sister-in-law, Yvonne Priebe, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ted Priebe Sr., and two sisters, Joyce (Joee) Bandt, and, Bernice Priebe.
Visitation for Ruth Priebe will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Ruth Priebe will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will follow in Budsin Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Crystal Lake, Marquette County. A memorial is being established.
