Ruth M. Schaetzka, 87, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Ruth was born on December 20, 1919 the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Bond) Mink-Peterson in Abbotsford, WI. She attended Riverside School, and then worked as a Supervisor for Ripon Knitting Works for 25 years, eventually retiring from Sand-Knit in Waupon. On November 7, 1940, Ruth married William E. Schaetzka and they made their home in Ripon. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include a son; Dennis (Pat) Schaetzka of Pickett, three daughters; Sharon (Meilahn) Standke, Trudith Frei, and Donna Munsey all of Ripon, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Rita Peterson of Abbotsford, WI. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Schaetzka, 2 sisters; Lillian Stobb and Lorraine Stobb, and 5 brothers; Lawrence, Phillip, Earl, Vernon, and Alfred Peterson.
Visitation for Ruth M. Schaetzka will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 9:00-11:00AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Services for Ruth M. Schaetzka will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials can be made to: Alzheimer’s Association SouthEast Wisconsin, 6130 West National Ave, Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI 53214.
