Ruth P. Westhause, age 92, of Ripon passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Hilltop Manor, Ripon.
Ruth was born July 31, 1911, in LaPorte, Indiana a daughter of Edna Ruth Stuart and Allen J. Patch. She received her education in Ripon and Fond du Lac and graduated from Ripon College in 1934. She married the Rev. Erwin C. Westhause on November 7, 1953, and was employed as a music teacher. Ruth was a past member of Oshkosh Area Keyboard Teachers Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association and National Music Teachers Association. Ruth and Rev. Westhause were founders of Terrace Shores Church, Green Lake. She also was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, Oshkosh, WI and also attended Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Ripon. She will be sadly missed by her many dear church friends.
Survivors include stepsons, Erwin C. (Velta) Westhause Jr. of Spring Branch, TX and David W. (Roberta) Westhause of Houston, TX. She also is survived by a sister, Esther Jones of Minneapolis, MN, three step-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Funeral service will be held at 2:00, with Reverend Richard Hopkins and Reverend Lynn Scovil officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, City of Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Plymouth Congregational Church, 1325 Georgia St. Oshkosh, WI 54901.
