Sally Ann Morris, age 73, of Ripon, passed away on August 2, 2008, at her home, with her family at her side, after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Sally was born on August 21, 1934, in Wollaston, MA, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (Squibb) Poch. After graduation, she enlisted in the Naval Reserves. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, Sally returned to Quincy, MA, where she married Dennis Morris in 1961. She worked as a traffic coordinator for Speed Queen Laundry Systems where her job entailed dispatching delivery trucks to both warehouses and retailers. In her spare time, Sally found time to participate in organizations including Rainbow Girl, and the Ripon Jaycees in which she was a charter member. She was also a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Dennis; daughter, Debbie (Henry) Hilscher of Ripon; granddaughter, Laura (fiancé, Josh Reinsch) Hilscher of Ripon; sisters, Mildred (Bud) Olson of Appleton, Katherine Thomas of Kingston, MA, and Mary Jane Poch of Penacook, NH; and special friends, Tanya and Andrea Novitske; 17 nieces and nephews; 35 great-nieces and nephews, and 25 great-great-nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Samuel and Theodore Poch; sister, Helen Bruno; and brother-in-law, Dick Thomas.
Visitation for Sally Ann Morris will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Memorial Mass for Sally Ann Morris will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon with Fr. Thomas H. McAlpine officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater. A memorial has been established.
