Mr. Samuel Awers, age 84, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on Friday, March 6, 1992, at Evergreen Retirement Community, Oshkosh.
Sam was born April 6, 1907, in Pennsylvania, PA, the son of Joseph and Petronella Awers. He spend most of his life as a machinist at a tool and die plant in Milwaukee. On September 22, 1945, he married Myrtle Meilahn. After leaving Milwaukee, they made Pickett their home, until they moved to Evergreen.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; three sisters-in-law; Beryl Awers of Milwaukee, Loretta (Armin) Konrad of Pickett and Carole Meilahn of Oshkosh. One brother-in-law; Nelson Meilahn of Pickett; one cousin; Ann Roberts of Scottsdale, Arizona; eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He is a member of the Elo United Methodist Church where services will be held at 11:30 on Monday, March 9, 1992. The Reverend Jeff Cole will officiate and interment will follow in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at the church. Memorials may be given to Alzheimers Research.
