Sandra Lea Sandy Domke, age 72, of Fairwater, WI, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Markesan Resident Home.
Sandy was born March 4, 1943, and raised in Fairwater, WI, the daughter of Milton and Serena (Hein) Dahlke. She graduated from Brandon High School in 1960 and in 1962 Sandy married her high school sweet heart, Fred W. Domke, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater. She was a homemaker as her children grew up and a bank teller for M & I in Ripon, Fairwater and Rosendale. Sandy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater and was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church Womens group. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, kitchen towels, and her famous fuzzy blankets. Sandy also enjoyed cooking and traveling with her husband on bus trips. She loved cats, cards, entertaining, gambling and spending time with friends and she adored her iPad. She especially loved spending time with her grandsons.
Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Domke of Fairwater, WI; two sons, Fred M. (Jackie) Domke of Manitowoc, WI and Ted (Barb) Domke of Fairwater, WI; one daughter, Heidi (Calvin) Hopp of Brandon, WI; three grandchildren, Andrew, Caleb and Alexander Hopp all of Brandon, WI; one sister, Yvonne (Larry) Thomas of Grand Island, NE and one aunt, Merna Swanke of Princeton, WI. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Rosalind Wichman, Betty Domke, and Lynn Adams along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Serena Dahlke.
Visitation for Sandra will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015, from 4 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 10 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Fairwater, WI 53931.
Funeral Service for Sandra will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater. Pastor Shari Routh will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater. A memorial is being established in Sandys name.
