Serena was born on June 9, 1920, in Green Lake County, the daughter of Ervin and Leona (Steinkraus) Hein. She graduated from Markesan High School and married Milton Dahlke. Serena was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Fairwater.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne (Larry) Thomas of Grand Island, NE and Sandra (Fred) Domke of Fairwater, WI; five grandchildren, Fred (Jackie) Domke, Ted (Barbara) Domke, Heidi (Calvin) Hopp, Deborah (Michael) Deschler and Lance Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, Justin and Krystal Deschler, Andrew, Caleb and Alexander Hopp, Jeremy and Matthew Thomas; great-great-granddaughter, Alyssa Thomas; one sister, Merna Swanke; four sister-in-laws, Eleanor (Willard) Pillsbury, Delores Hein, Darlene Nowatzski, and Leona Dahlke; many nieces and nephews with one special nephew, Gale Dahlke; and a special neighbor friend, Zach Berndt. Serena was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; brothers, Marvin Hein, Russell Hein, Elwood Hein, Norwood Nowatzski, and Walter Nowatzski; and sisters, Loretta Westbrook and Margaret Peloquin.
Visitation for Serena Dahlke will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Monday, December 14, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Fairwater.
Funeral Service for Serena Dahlke will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Fairwater, 100 Church St. Fairwater, WI 53931, with Reverend Scott G. Ehle officiating. Internment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, Midwest Div. 3311 S.
