Shannon Waltenberry

January 5, 1973 — February 12, 2004

Shannon Carol Waltenberry, 31, of 542 E. Washington St, Brandon, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at her home after an almost three year courageous battle with cancer.

Shannon was born on January 5, 1973 in Waupun, the daughter of Steven and Sharon (Terbeest) Jenkins. She went through public school until her high school years where she was home schooled until her graduation. Shannon met her future husband Jeff Waltenberry while they were both working at Pizza Hut. They were married on September 25, 1993 and made their home in Brandon. Shannon loved children and was a preschool teacher until she started in the family business at Waltenberry, Inc., as a Video editor. They attended Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Waltenberry of Brandon, one son, Joseph at home, her parents, Steve and Sharon Jenkins of Ripon, three brothers; Shawn Jenkins of Plain, Shane Jenkins and Scott Jenkins both of Oshkosh, and two sisters, Sheila and Sarah both of Oshkosh. Also survived by her parents-in-law, Dick and Barb Waltenberry of Ripon, and two sisters-in-law; Dawn (Mike) Knitter of Milwaukee, and Colleen (Doug) Bergman of St. Thomas, VI.

A memorial service will be held for Shannon on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon with Pastor Marlin Mohrman officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Mackford Union Prairie Cemetery, Town of Mackford. Memorials may go to the Joey Waltenberry college fund.

The family wishes to thank the friends who helped with transportation to treatments and meals. Special thanks to the entire community of Brandon for your overwhelming support through the benefit and other fundraisers.

Shannon was truly a special person who touched many lives and was loved by many, both in her personal life and through her work in the horse industry. People all over the United States have expressed their care and concern for this remarkable young woman that they knew only over the phone.
