Sharon L. Hesterberg

Sharon L. Hesterberg, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 22, 2023.  

Sharon was born in Calumet, MI on February 28, 1947, the daughter of the late Reino and Elma (Laakko) Erkkila. On June 24, 1967 she married her husband of 55 years, William G. Hesterberg, in Laurium, MI. Sharon graduated from Lake Linden High School in 1965 and went on to earn a degree from Suomi College 1967. Her Finnish heritage was a source of pride for her, and the term “Sisu” definitely applied. She spent her working years at various places as a productive office manager, retiring from Mercury Marine, but was known for her real passion, raising and showing champion Collies. Many trophies, ribbons and accolades were earned. When there was spare time, wonderful crafts would be created. Sharon will be remembered for her generosity, seeing everybody as equals, and her wonderful cooking which was most definitely enjoyed by her husband and son. She will be dearly missed by her family and close, dear friends.  

Sharon is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Brian; sister, Diane (Pat) Thornton; brother-in-law, John (Debbie) Hesterberg; nieces and nephews: Kyle (Leana) Thornton, Kimberly (Keshon) Moorehead, Christopher Hesterberg and Katie (Andrew) Moore; grand-nieces and nephews; many cousins; and many dear friends and helpful neighbors.  

A visitation for Sharon will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 12:00 pm, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Pastor Jonathan Stansfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosendale Cemetery,  Rosendale, WI.
