Sherman Guy Kuharske, 95, formerly of Ripon, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 6, 2005, at Tower View Villa in Rosendale.
He was born October 26, 1910, in the Town of Utley, Green Lake Co., a son to Victor Felix and Lura May (Lamond) Kuharske. Sherman was a graduate of Ripon High School. He served in the 5th Army Air Corps, 22nd Bombardment Group, 408th Squadron from 1941-1946, being discharged as Staff Sergeant. On November 1, 1947, he married Virginia Sebert. Until his retirement, he had been a sheet metal worker and welder at Rippin Good Cookies. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, American Legion, V.F.W., E.A.A., Ripon Harmony Kings and Melo Tones Big Band.
Survivors include his daughter, Charmaine (James) LaBelle of Mukwonago; nieces, Janet Blazer of Green Lake and Carol Berlowski of Markesan; cousins, C. McDowell Kuharske of Groveland, FL and Raymond Kuharske of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia on May 21, 2004; brother, Gordon; and sister, Beryl Wendt.
Funeral service for Sherman Kuharske will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2005, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. The Rev. Paul Nulton will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. Memorials may be given in his name to Immanuel United Methodist Church, Tower View Villa, 401 N Grant St, Rosendale, WI 54974, or Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Dr, Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
