Shirley Boese

Shirley A. Boese, age 80, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.

Shirley was born on April 27, 1931, in Ripon, the daughter of George and Bernice (Spaulding) Wittchow. She graduated from Ripon High School. In 1950, Shirley married Frederick Boese. She worked as a cookie packer at Rippin Foods from 1963 – 1991. Shirley liked to bowl, playing cards with her card club and she loved to Polka Dance with Frederick. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.

Survivors include her husband, Frederick of Ripon, WI; one daughter, Sharon (Tom) Newcomer of Weslaco, TX; one son, James (Diane) Boese of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Vetrone of Neshkoro, WI, Jennifer (Eric) Owen of Crawfordsville, IN, Rebecca (Julio) Sosa of Maryland, Joshua and Grant Boese both of Ripon, WI; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Carol) Wittchow of Ripon, WI; sister, Lois (Harold) Novak of Green Lake, WI and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one cousin, Sonny Sevall.

Visitation for Shirley Boese will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, April 7, 2012, from 9 – 10:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Shirley Boese will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 10:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Nepeuskun Cemetery in the Town of Nepeuskun. Memorials may be directed to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
