Shirley M. Wetzel, 69, of Ripon, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, after a short stay at Michalenes following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 10, 1929, in Markesan, a daughter to Merwin and Josephine (Lichtenberg) Kimble. She was a graduate of Green Lake High School. On August 28, 1950, she married Marvin Mike Wetzel, and they made their home in Ripon. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church of Ripon, and had worked at Ripon Foods and at the Pub at Ripon College.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Wendy (Craig) Grahn and Connie (Bryan)Kautzer, both of Ripon; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Kautzer and Jessica & Kaycee Grahn; 3 sisters, Harriet (Elmer) Hilke of Ripon, Lois Quick of Fulton, MO and Beverly (Eugene) Brey of St. Cloud, WI; 3 brothers, Maurice (Lorraine) Kimble of Markesan, Roger (Elaine) Kimble of Brandon and Kenneth (Karren) Kimble of Eldorado; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 18, 1998 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Busker officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
