Simon Polcyn

Simon Donald Polcyn, age 6, of 321 E. Sullivan, Ripon, was taken home to heaven on Friday, May 9, 2003, due to a traffic accident.

Simon was born August 12, 1996, in Marshfield, WI, a son to Duwayne and Laura (Novitske) Polcyn. He was a first grader at Barlow Park Elementary School. Simon was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon and was active in the Ripon Area Youth Wrestling program. He was previously involved with the wrestling programs in Neillsville, WI. Simon loved his brothers very much and enjoyed spending his time with them.

Survivors include his parents; DuWayne and Laura Polcyn of Ripon, Brothers; Jason, Casey and Gabriel Polcyn at home; Maternal grandparents, Ron and Jan Novitske, Ripon; Paternal grandmother, Jeanette Garb of Ripon; Paternal grandfather, Donald (Cindy) Polcyn, Menasha, WI. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Lyle Garb, paternal great-grandparents, Leo and Hope Huth and Michael and Tillie Polcyn, maternal great-grandparents, Lawrence and Mae Novitske and Janet and Alvin Junior.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 12, 2003, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon. Rev. Mark R. West, Ripon and Rev. James Mohr, Neillsville, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
