Somers Sherwood, 86, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2000, at Parkview Care Center.
Somers was born on October 5, 1913, in Ripon, the son of Ralph Meade and Fannie Belle (Latimer) Sherwood. He attended Ripon schools and worked as a farmer for most of his life. Somers was a very active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. He also was a member of the Adams School Board for 25 years.
Survivors include one brother, Wesley Sherwood and one sister, Rachel Sherwood both of Ripon; one sister-in-law, Arleen Sherwood of Ripon; one nephew, Ralph (Donna) Sherwood of Ripon; three nieces, Nancy (Ralph) Baker of Oshkosh, Sue (Richard) Kohl and Anna Sherwood both of Ripon; two great nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sidney Sherwood.
There will be a memorial gathering held at Parkview Care Center in Ripon on Sunday, September 10, 2000 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon.
