Stanley R. Benkoski, 81, of Ripon, passed away Saturday, December 3, 1994, at his home.
He was born February 12, 1913, in Ripon; a son of George and Catherine Kobelinski Benkoski. He was a graduate of Ripon High School and served in the Aviation Battalion of the U.S. Army during WWII. After serving in both the China Offense and Defense, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and American Theater Ribbons. On September 21, 1940, he married Florence Fleischman in Oshkosh. Stanley has worked as an independent insurance agent since 1947, and has served the Ripon community as a real estate broker. He is a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. For over 50 years he has belonged to the Ripon American Legion and has been a member of the Ripon V.F.W. Post.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Robert (Barbara) Benkoski of Ripon, Michael (Alison) Benkoski of Deer Park, ILL, one daughter, Joanne Benkoski of Miami, FL; three grandchildren and one great-grandson; one brother, Leonard (Fran) Benkoski of Oshkosh and one sister, Kathryn (Gorden) Jenks of Ripon, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Tuesday, December 6, 1994, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend John Schmitz will officiate and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Monday, December 5, 1994, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home; a V.F.W. service will be held at 7:30 followed by a Rosary 8 pm. A memorial has been established in memory of Stanley Benkoski.
