Stanley Happe

Stan Happe, age 54, of Ripon, WI, suffered cardiac arrest after snorkeling and passed away unexpected Monday, February 22, 1993, while vacationing on Grand Caymen Island, B.W.I.
Stanley Fred Happe was born November 13, 1938, in Chili, Clark County, the second son of Oliver and Iva (Zimmerman) Happe. After graduating from Ripon High School in 1957, he attended Oshkosh Technical Institute. Stan and Jan were married September 30, 1961 and have made their home in Ripon since then. After active duty in the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis, Stan went to work at Speed Queen. He has been employed in various capacities in the Ripon, Juneau and Wautoma plants. He was currently Facilities Engineer in Ripon where he was involved with the computer aided drafting system. He was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church of Ripon. Stan had many attributes, among them was his unique ability to fix mechanical devices. He and his father Oliver spent many hours completing various projects; one of his proudest accomplishments was keeping a 1971 MGB-GT running to perfection. Other endeavors have included hunting trips to Montana, membership in the National Rifle Association and vacations to the Caymans.
In addition to his wife, the former Janice Marquart, he is mourned by his parents Oliver and Iva Happe of Ripon; his sister Marianne Happe of Locust Valley, NY; and his brother Douglas Happe and his wife Doris, and their children Jonathan and Jeanne Happe, all of New Brighton, MN. Mikki Girl will miss him. In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother Kenneth in 1990.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 1993, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Howard Ott will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Abiding with his specific wishes, the casket will be closed. Private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established for Diabetes Research.
