Stephen J. Boss Grandpa Yasick, 87, of the Town of Ripon, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at St. Claire Meadows in Baraboo.
He was born June 9, 1911, in the Township of Mecan, Green Lake County, a son to Valentine and Helen (Hajzyk) Yasick. He attended school in Princeton. On February 9, 1938 he married Eleanor Woitkielevicz. Steve worked in the machine shop at Speed Queen for 27 years until retiring, and in his early years farmed. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church of Ripon and the United Steel Workers, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by 1 son, Melvin (Roseann) Yasick of Baraboo; 2 daughters, Maryann (Ralph) Remmenga of Freedom and Kathy Colson of Ripon; 1 daughter-in-law, Darlene Yasick of Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Lucille Link of NC and Genivieve Clochesy of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 1, 1992; 1 son, Eugene Yasick on January 10, 1989, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at
10:30 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon with Father Robert
Fictum and Father Michael Doro officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday,
March 9 from 4 until 7:30 AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon
with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 9:30
AM until the time of the Mass at the church. Interment will be in St.
Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon.
