Sue Ellen K. Zabel

Sue Ellen Kay Zabel, age 63, of Ripon, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Ripon Community Hospital.

Sue Ellen was born on July 22, 1961 in Waupun, WI, daughter of Bernard and Wilma (Pater) Zabel. She graduated from Laconia High School in Rosendale, WI and went on to earn her associates degree at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI and graduated with honors. Sue Ellen worked hard as a housekeeper for many families, and took pride making their homes look nice. She had a kind, generous heart; a contagious laugh along with a great sense of humor; and a love for God that developed deeply while overcoming hardships and struggles early in life. Sue Ellen enjoyed painting, loved caring for her plants, and most of all cherished her dog, Mugzy. Whether it was inviting friends and neighbors over for a nice meal, or being the best grandma in the world, family and friends meant the most to her. She will be missed dearly. 

Sue Ellen is survived by her children, Dawn (Otis Wright) Miller, Nichole Miller, and Joshua Miller; five grandchildren, Darsjohn, Keshawana, Tashay; Hannah, and Hunter; siblings, Duane (Patty) Zabel, Kathleen Zabel, Diane Spiegler, Colleen (Tom) Guderski, Lorna (Rick) Wetzel; and numerous nieces; nephews; and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Wilma Zabel; and a brother, Verlyn Zabel.

Visitation for Sue Ellen will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 777 Harvey St., Ripon, WI 54971.

A celebration of life for Sue Ellen will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon, with Pastor Paul Ethington officiating. A memorial is being established in her name.
