Swanhild Heffernan, 87, of Ripon, died Thursday, June 20, 1996, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
She was born April 1.,1909, in Dawson, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter C. and Bertha (Stoland) Dale. She was a graduate of both St Olaf College and the University of Minnesota. Swanee taught music in Green Lake for 8 years and in Ripon for 2 years. In 1942, she married Elmer Smith and he passed away in 1959. Swanee was then married to Maxwell E. Heffernan from 1962 until his death in 1990.
She is survived by 1 son, Richard Smith of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 24, 1996, at 2 PM at the Butzin—Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Pastor Paul Holte officiating. Inurnment was in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon.
