Tellia A. Weishaar

Tellia “Tootie” Anna Weishaar, age 100, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Wolverton Glen Assisted Living in Ripon. 

Tootie was born January 12, 1923 in the family home in the township of Deerfield, WI, the daughter of Wilhelm and Anna (Sauer) Raatz. Tootie worked in the shell department at Barlow and Sielig during WWII, where they manufactured 20 mm tracer ammunition for the war efforts and later produced washers and dryers. She met her husband, Glenn Weishaar, in Richford, WI while he was playing polka music. They were united in marriage on June 9, 1946 in Coloma, WI, and they made their life together for 60 years until his death on October, 17, 2006. Tootie, along with her husband, worked for Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church as custodians for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Tootie was a member of the Grace Altar Guild for many years, the Rebekah Circle, the Quilting Group at Grace and the Ripon VFW Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Auxiliary Post # 5278. She also volunteered for the VFW roadside trash cleanup events. 

Tootie had a wide variety of interests and hobbies, including camping and fishing with her husband, gardening and crafting. She was very talented at sewing, and she loved to sew clothes, crochet and cross stitch gifts for her friends and family. She also enjoyed reading and watching Hallmark movies. Tootie had a big heart and she loved to give back. She was always there for her loved ones, and was very good at keeping in contact with everyone with her iPhone. Her family was very dear to her and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. 

Tootie is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Everett) Wood of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Michelle (Tom) Gansman of Fishers, IN and Matthew (Megan) Wood of DePere, WI; and great-granddaugher, Tellia Jo Gansman of Fishers, IN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Weishaar; parents, Wilhelm and Anna Raatz; two brothers; six sisters; and many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation for Tootie will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 10 – 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971. 

A funeral service for Tootie will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Melissa Hrdlicka officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, City of Ripon, WI. Memorials in her name may be directed to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
