Terrance Terry F. Slover, age 68, of Pickett, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Terry was born on September 18, 1941, in Oshkosh, the son of Millard and Jean (Dodge) Slover. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and went to college in California. Terry married Sharon Horne in 1961, in Vista, CA. He served our country as a Navy Corpsman, attached to the Marines, and was a Veteran of Vietnam. Terry was retired from the Winnebago County Sheriffs Department and the California Highway Patrol. While on the Sheriffs Department, he was on the dive team and boat and snowmobile patrol. He was member of Amvets and a past supervisor for the Town of Utica, and also served many years on the planning and zoning commission. Terrys passions were golf, car shows and hot rods. He loved to travel and winter in Texas. He was a devout member of Countryside Christian Church in Pickett, WI.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Pickett, WI; son, Troy (Shelly) Slover of Pickett, WI; granddaughter, Elysia Peterson of Oshkosh, WI; sister, Tonya Slover of Green Bay, WI, brother-in-law, Barry (Barbie) Horne of Omro, WI; sisters-in-law, Karen (Tom) Holdorf of Winneconne, WI, Ramona (Mike) Fruend of Omro, WI and Lisa (Carl Hayek) Horne of Spring Green, WI; half brother and sister, Fred and Pat of CA; uncle, Fred Dodge of Omro, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Terrance was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law.
Visitation for Terrance Slover will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010, from 3 7:00 pm at Countryside Christian Church, Hwy 44 Pickett, WI 54964 and again on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, from 10 11:00 am at Countryside Christian Church in Pickett, WI.
Funeral Service for Terrance Slover will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 11:00 am at Countryside Christian Church in Pickett, WI. Reverend Gregory Carson Decker will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Tice Cemetery in the Town of Omro at a later date. A memorial is being established.
