Terry W. Blazer, age 77, of Oshkosh (formerly of Green Lake), WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Adelaide Place in Fond du Lac, WI.
Terry was born on November 27, 1947 in Fond du Lac, WI, son of Andrew and Lucille (Ablard) Blazer. He attended high school in Fond du Lac and then went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1968. In 1969 he married Marian Rieder and they had two sons together, Randy and Travis. Terry and Marian divorced in 1990 and on May 30, 1991, he married Janet “Jan” Wendt. Jan passed away in 2021.
Terry worked as a mechanic in his early years. He then became a police officer and and served in Green Lake for two years and Ripon for two years. Terry then worked for Badger Mining in Berlin for 17 years, becoming manager of the trucking division before starting his own trucking business, Blazer Transport in Green Lake. Terry received his pilot’s license and became a charter pilot for clients in the area. He also had a passion for buying and selling planes as well. In his free time, Terry could be found at his hanger on the EAA grounds, which he was very proud of.
Terry is survived by his sons, Randy Blazer and Travis (Suzanne) Blazer; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, Gary (Karen) Blazer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lucille Blazer; his second wife, Janet Blazer; half-brothers, Bob and Tom Blazer; and a half-sister, Lorna Nestel.
A private family graveside committal service will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake, WI, with Rev. Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. A final salute and full military honors will take place following the committal service at the cemetery. A memorial is being established in Terry’s name.
