The Reverend Dale Arthur Kelm, age 60, formerly of Stoney Ridge Rd, Ripon, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 7, 2005, at Hospice Home of Hope, 400 Co. Rd K, Fond du Lac, WI.
He was born May 30, 1944, in Ripon, the son of William Herbert and Yvonne M. (Hoeft) Kelm. Dale graduated from Montello High School in 1962, and then entered U.W.-Stevens Point where he received a degree of Bachelor of Science with majors in English and History, and minors in American Civilization and Philosophy in 1967. He entered Evangelical Theological Seminary at Naperville, IL in 1967. He graduated in 1971 with the degree of Master of Divinity with Emphasis in Old and New Testament Studies, as well as Pastoral Counseling. He received the Dr. Edgar Faust Award for preaching. Dale was chapel organist for three years at E.T.S., and served as pulpit supply in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan.
Dale entered United Methodist Ministry in WI Conference (E.U.B.) as a Probationary Member in 1967, and was Ordained Deacon in 1969, and Full Member and Ordained Elder in 1971. Rev. Kelm was appointed Sc 1967; Wauwatosa: at Bethany 1969; Sc 1970; Brandon-Ladoga 1971; Brandon 1975; Lark Emmanuel-Reedsville Zion 1976; leave of absence in 1981; honorable location - Immanuel UMC Ripon in 1991 where he currently was a member.
Survivors include his mother, Yvonne Kelm of Fond du Lac; several cousins, Virginia Wagener of Fond du Lac and Angeline Nowland of Oshkosh; and other relatives. His father preceded him in death in 1991.
Funeral service for the Reverend Dale A. Kelm will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2005 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon with the Rev. Neil S. Wilson and the Rev. David Busker officiating. Visitation will be from 9 until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Princeton City Cemetery, Princeton. Memorials may be given to Hospice Home of Hope, 400 County Road K, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
