The Reverend Thomas Morgan

The Reverend Thomas P. Morgan, age 56, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at his home with his wife by his side.

Tom was born on January 19, 1957, in Ripon, the son of Maurice Eugene and Lois Ann (Rogge) Morgan. He graduated from Ripon High School. On June 16, 1979, Tom married Susan Walkowiak at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon, WI; she preceded him in death on May 31, 1999. Tom attended Westmar College, Le Mars, IA and then Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL. Tom was ordained in the Wisconsin Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church as a Deacon in 1982 and as an Elder in 1986. He ministered in United Methodist Churches in Lancaster, Beetown, Ash Creek, Willow Valley, Shawano, Lomira and Willerup Memorial in Cambridge. In March 1999, Tom was put on medical leave but he didn’t stop doing ministry. As a member of the Ripon Area Ministers Association, Tom continued to lead worship at area care facilities until shortly before his death. In 2007, Tom married Kim (Cheney) Lauber at Immanuel United Methodist Church. Tom was a member of the Ripon High School FFA; the Academy of Parish Clergy; and the Wisconsin United Methodist Volunteers in Mission.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Morgan, Ripon, WI; daughter, Sarah (Danny) Wollner, Marshall, WI; son, James Morgan, Fitchburg, WI; grandson, Alexander Wollner, Marshall, WI; granddaughter, Quinn Wollner, Marshall, WI; stepchildren, Gregory, Michael, and Amy Lauber, Oshkosh and Ripon, WI; father, Maurice Morgan, Ripon, WI; sister, Kay (Bob) Zahn, Ripon, WI; mother-in-law, Marlene Walkowiak, Ripon, WI; brother-in-law, Robert (Gayle) Walkowiak, Waunakee, WI; sister-in-law, Linda Ellis, Chetek, WI; and nephew, Demitre Ellis, Chetek, WI. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Morgan; infant son, Samuel Morgan; mother, Lois Morgan; and father-in-law, Harry Walkowiak.

Visitation for The Reverend Thomas P. Morgan will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013, from 4-8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, August 3, 2013, from 10-11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 West Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Services for The Reverend Thomas P. Morgan will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Pastor Laverne Larson will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the City of Ripon. A memorial is being established.
