Theodore "Ted" E. F. Machmueller

Theodore “Ted” E. F. Machmueller, age 93, of Ripon, WI passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Ripon, with his family by his side.

Ted was born on March 11, 1931 in Theresa, WI, son of Theodore and Henrietta (Luebke) Machmueller. After attending high school he worked on the family farm and then went on to serve our country in the U.S. Marines. On September 26, 1959 he married Caroline Manske in Ripon. Ted worked at Alliance Laundry in Ripon for 37 years, where he held many different positions. He was a proud member and retiree of the United Steel Worker’s Union. Ted stayed very active in the community and surrounding area, being a member of the Ripon and Green Lake Senior Center, the Ripon Card Club, and a devoted member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling and was involved with the Senior Bowling group, and he also stayed active by being involved with the Ripon College Water Aerobics. In his free time he loved gardening and helping others as a part-time electrician. 

More than anything Ted cherished time with his great-grandson, Abel and his family and looked forward to the cousin’s get-together every month. Ted loved his wife Caroline deeply and was proud of their 60 year marriage. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He was a sassy, old German who had a smart comment for everyone. Ted is “no longer looking down at the ground”.

Ted is survived by his son, Todd (Lori) Machmueller of Ripon, WI; granddaughters, Ivy Machmueller of Ripon, WI and Holly Machmueller of Menomonee Falls, WI; great-grandson, Abel Resop of Ripon, WI; a sister, Marion Wittchow of Ripon, WI; brother-in-law, Edward (Jean Zeto) Manske of Ripon, WI; sister-in-law, Karen Manske of Markesan, WI; former daughters-in-law, Patti Russell and Robin (TJ) Sitter; and many nieces; nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2020, Caroline Machmueller; parents, Theodore and Henrietta Machmueller; sisters and brother-in-laws, Marguerite (Ewald) Beske, Adeline (Norman) Kiesow, Josephine (Virgil) Rhode, Virginia (Anton “Bill”) Nagler, and Betty (Lyle Cole, Clarence Hoffman, Arnold Malzahn); brother-in-law, Eugene Wittchow; sisters-in-law, Edna (Clarence) Schwandt and Debra (Stuart) Schliepp; brothers-in-law, Earl Manske and Donald Manske; mother and father-in-law, Helen and Edward Manske; and grandson-in-law, Jason Resop.

Visitation for Ted will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 am on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 307 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial service for Ted will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Pastor Michael Sheppard officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Ted’s name.
