Thomas Ralph Coburn, age 73, of Fairwater, WI, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014, at his home with his loving family by his side after courageously fighting lung cancer.
Tom was born October 7, 1940, in Cleveland, OH, the son of Jack H. and Mary K. (Blodgett) Coburn. He was a graduate of Geauga County High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Navy. In 1964, he was united in marriage to Norma Elaine Vis, at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Ripon. Tom worked as a truck driver and he was a member of American Legion Post # 378 of Brandon/Fairwater; and also Scout Master Markesan Troop 728. For those of you who knew him, he was a jokester most of the time and was never afraid to voice his opinion. Most of all Tom cherished his time with family and friends. Among many interests he enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Coburn, Fairwater, WI; daughter, Mary (Tom) Pollesch, Markesan, WI; daughter, Cyndi (Paul) Gunderson, Princeton, WI; son, Steven Coburn, Norfolk, VA; son, Timothy Coburn (friend Jennifer), Oak Creek, WI; daughter, Lori Jensen (friend Jeremy), Ripon, WI; brother, Greg (Cheryl) Coburn, Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Lisa ( fiancé Nate) Pollesch, Ryan (Aubrey) Pollesch, Jonathan Bock, Matthew Immel, Rebecca Zalesky (Jesse), Samantha Coburn, Courtney Gunderson, Josh, Justin, and Kayla Gunderson, Erin and Jacob Coburn, Kristen Jensen; great-grandchild, Jaylynn Albright; mother-in-law, Wilma Vis of Brandon, WI; special cousin, Francie (John) Pearson, Wheaton, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Coburn; uncle, Howard and aunt, Elizabeth Blodgett; uncle, Morris Blodgett; father-in-law, Bernie Vis; and special cousin, Kathryn (Blodgett) Smith.
Visitation for Thomas R. Coburn will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Thomas R. Coburn will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Chaplain Greg Nuernberg will officiate. Full Military Honors will be held.
