Thomas A. Cotter, age 76, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012, at Ripon Medical Center with his family by his side.
Thomas was born on February 4, 1936, in Ripon, the son of Howard and Clara (Sina) Cotter. He graduated from Ripon High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps. On December 27, 1958, Thomas married Joyce Cluppert in Ripon. Thomas was employed with the post office, WR Grace and Company, Terra Industries and worked part time for Condons. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce of Ripon, WI; one son, Michael Cotter of Verona, WI and his children, Sara, Andrew and Megan; one daughter, Jane Cotter of Ripon, WI; brothers,
Dr. Robert (Jane) Cotter of Ripon, WI, William (Mel) Cotter of Texas and Dr. Pat (Natasha) Cotter of New York; two sisters, Cis (Mark) Holzhauer of Las Vegas, NV and Mary Cotter of Ripon, WI and several nieces and nephews. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James and Donald Cotter and one sister, Elizabeth Winchell.
Visitation for Thomas will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012, from 5 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
