Thomas Moniz

Thomas Joseph Moniz, 81, of 823 Thomas St. Ripon, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 15, 2004, at Ripon Medical Center with his family at his side.

Thomas was born on January 11, 1923 the son of William J. and Rose Mary (Serpa) Moniz in Bedford, MA. He graduated from Roosevelt University and Chicago Technical College, and worked as a Civil Engineer for 35 years. Thomas married Lillian F. Dixon in Kingsville, TX on August 2, 1945.

Survivors include his wife Lillian of Ripon, son Thomas (Penny) Moniz Jr. of Ripon, daughters; Marta (Edward) Brown of Warrenville, IL, Pamela Hardee of Ripon, Kathy (William) Hill of Ripon, and Debbie Smith of Mesa, AZ, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 1 brother; Charles (Rita) Moniz of New Bedford, MA. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandchild, 1 brother; William, and two sisters; Rose and Eleanor.

Private family graveside services have been held.
