Thomas Resop

Thomas M. Resop, age 57, of Ripon, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at his home with his family at his side.

Tom was born in Berlin on October 22, 1950, the son of Alvin and Barbara (Muscavitch) Resop. He graduated from Berlin High School, and in 1973 he married Wendy K. Berndt in Ripon. Tom worked as a mixer for Ripon Foods and retired in 2001. He attended Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, and the Berlin & Ripon Conservation Club. Tom loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and loved the bus trips to Ho-Chunk Casino.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Wendy K. Resop of Ripon; their children, Casey (Katie) Kroll of Hudson, Troy (Theresa) Resop, Amanda Resop Disterhaft (Chad Lisowe, fiancée) of Ripon; grandchildren, Tyler & Taylor Resop, Presley Lisowe all of Ripon, and Cayden Kroll of Hudson; his mother Barbara Resop of Berlin; one brother, Wayne (Carla) Resop, and two sisters, Gloria (Leroy) Larson, and Sharon (Conrad) Wilson all of Berlin; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Williams of Dale City, VA, and Benita (Ronald) Keplin of Ripon, and one brother-in-law, Randy (Kari) Berndt of Ripon; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Resop; grandparents; and in-laws, Earl and Ellen Berndt.

Visitation for Thomas Resop will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Friends may also call on Friday from 10-11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ on Scott Street in Ripon.

Funeral service for Thomas Resop will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 19, 2008 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Inurnment will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
