Thomas (Tom) Racine

Thomas A. Racine (Tom), age 86, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013, at Ripon Medical Center.

Tom was born, February 19, 1927, in Blue Island, IL, the son of Joseph and Adeline (Kleber) Racine. He graduated from St. Rita’s High School in Illinois, and went on to serve our country in the United States Army, having served during WWII, where he was a Staff Sergeant in the Motor pool. Tom went on to college and graduated from Purdue University, where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On July 30, 1955, Tom was united in marriage to Patricia King at St. Killian’s Catholic Church. He worked as a mechanical engineer for numerous companies including International Harvester; J. I. Case; and ultimately retired from Mercury Marine in 1989. Tom was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church Parish; he was also a member of the NRA- National Rifle Association; SAE- Society of Automotive Engineers; and Toastmasters.

Survivors include his children, Barbara (Timothy) Zimmerman of Stevens Point, Joe Racine of Green Lake, Sue (Jim) Davis of DeWitt, MI, and Jim (Dawn) Racine of Brighton, MI; nine grandchildren, Catherine, Jill, Michael, Julie, Zachary, Benjamin, Edward, Nicole, Jonathan (Lisa); great granddaughter, Alexandria; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and his parents.

Visitation for Tom Racine will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Additional visitation on Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 9:30-10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Mass of Christian burial for Tom Racine will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Interment will follow at Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn, with full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
