Velva Zeatlow

Velva Rae (Morgan) Zeatlow, 53, of Ripon, was called home by our Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2001. She was hospitalized on December 21, 2000, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, where she lost a five-year battle to breast cancer.

She was born to Clarence and Geraldine (Price) Morgan on June 18, 1947, in the City of Ripon, Fond du Lac Co. She was a graduate of Ripon High School. She later married David Zeatlow, also of Ripon, on November 18, 1967, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Velva was employed by PGI of Green Lake for a period of time until her illness prevented her from working. She was a homemaker until her death.

She was the loving daughter of Clarence and Geraldine (Price) Morgan for 53 years, the beloved wife of David Zeatlow for 33 wonderful years, loving and devoted mother of daughters, Laura Ann, Michelle L. and Kelly M. Zeatlow, dear sister to Calvin V. Morgan, and proud grandmother of Robin N. Zeatlow.

Velva is survived by her maternal grandmother, Freda H. (Dennis) Price of Delavan, mother, Geraldine Morgan, brother, Calvin V. (Debra) Morgan, husband, David Zeatlow, 2 daughters, Michelle and Kelly Zeatlow, granddaughter, Robin Zeatlow, all of Ripon. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, 2 brothers-in-law, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Ann, her father, Clarence Morgan, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2001, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home from 5.8 p.m., and on Saturday, January 13 at Trinity Evangelical Free Church from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, (777 Harvey St, Ripon) with Pastor Mike Dodds and Pastor Art Volkmann officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
