Vera Ione Radke, age 75, of the Town of Nepeuskun, passed away on Friday, May 17, 1991, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Radke was born September 3, 1915, in the Town of Rosendale, a daughter to Sidney and Fern (Howard) Phillips. She was educated in Green Lake. On May 23, 1936, she married Edward Radke in Ripon. Together they farmed in the Ripon area for many years. On July 31, 1985, he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Radke was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Ripon and had served with the Hospice Home Care Team. She was also active in Pickett Community Center activities and was an avid square dance participant.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry of Nevada, IA; Michael of Manhattan Beach, CA; Rodney of St. Charles, MO; and Brian of Ripon, WI; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Eva Martin of Berlin, Faye Evert of Green Lake, Julia Spiegler of Ripon and Joy Ferch of Green Lake. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call Monday, May 20, 1991 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
Funeral Services for Vera Radke will be held Tuesday, May 21, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Ripon. The Reverend David Meyer of Berlin will officiate. Interment will follow in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, in the Town of Utica. A memorial for the Pickett Community Center has been established in her name.
