Vera Wepner

Vera R. Wepner, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Vera was born March 23, 1928, in the Town of Nepeuskun, WI, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Zamzow) Zech. She graduated from Brandon High School and on August 19, 1950, Vera married John Wepner. Vera worked as an embroiderer for Admanco for 50 years. She was a life- long member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Vera was a member of the Women’s Guild and VFW Auxiliary Post 5278.
Survivors include three children, Tim (Anne) Wepner of Newton, NC, Phillip Wepner of Ripon, WI and Lisa (Gerard) Keuler of Oshkosh, WI; thirteen grandchildren, John (Janet) Wepner of Newton, NC, Grace (Tim) Ludtke of Greensboro, NC, Nell, Iva, Estella and Ruth Wepner all of Newton, NC, Henry, Franklin, Gordon, Gideon, Huitt and Inman Wepner all of Newton, NC and James Keuler of Oshkosh, WI; two great-grandsons, Grantham and Liam Ludtke of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Grace Schattschneider and Ruby Vollbrecht both of Ripon, WI; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Zech of Brandon, WI, Betty (Cyril) Rohde of Hartford, WI and Marge Burling of Ripon, WI; one brother-in-law, Verne (Sylvia) Wepner of Oshkosh, WI and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; brother, David Zech; sister, Edythe and Glenn Schattschneider and in-laws, Albert Schattschneider, Walter Vollbrecht, Robert and Connie Wepner, Ray and Alice Prellwitz and Bob Burling.
Visitation for Vera will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 10 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Vera will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Gerald Schrankler and Reverend Gary Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Parish Nurse Fund of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon, WI 54971.
