Vernon V. Cushing, age 65, of Markesan, WI, died January 24, 1995 at his home.
He was born March 10, 1929, in Terril, IA, a son to Audrey B. and Amelia E. Hansen Cushing. He was educated in Terril and served his country in the U.S. Army. Vernon was a carpenter/remodeling salesman for City Lumber & Supply Co./Gypsum Supply Co. in Rockford for 32 years until his retirement. On August 5, 1950, he married Margarette M. Markeli, and they made their home in Rockford for nearly 40 years before moving eight years ago to Green Lake Terrace. Vern was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Margarette M. Cushing; one son, Michael (Pam) Cushing; one granddaughter, Amanda Cushing; one daughter, Linda Wold and one sister, Audrey Walton all of Rockford, IL; two brothers, Delmar (Mary) Cushing of Seattle, WA and Roger (Tim) Cushing of Machesney Park, IL. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother.
Funeral service for Vernon V. Cushing will be 4 pm Wednesday, January 25, 1995, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Reverend Bill Lewis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in North Burritt Cemetery in Rockford. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Berlin Hospice Hope in his name.
