Vernon Maug

Vernon A. Maug, age 88, formerly of 606 Eureka St, Ripon, died Monday afternoon, March 11, 2002, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
He was born July 7, 1913, in Ripon, a son to Arthur and Meta (Volkerts) Maug. He attended country school and Ripon High School. On June 12, 1940, he married Lucille Agnes Toll. Vernon farmed 50 years on his own farm near Ripon. Mr. Maug was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Maurine (John) Nestor of Centuria, WI, Kathy (Bruce) Szpot of Whitefish Bay, and Barbara (Tom) Bobal of Portland, OR; John (Mary) Maug of Whitefish Bay and James Maug of Ripon; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille in 1996 and his parents.
Funeral service for Vernon A. Maug will be Thursday, March 14, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon with the Rev. Rebecca A. Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Memorials to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
