Vernon L. Wood, age 80, Ripon, passed away Thursday morning, May 27, 2004, at Parkview Care Center after a brief stay.
He was born June 11, 1923, in Brownsville, the son of Leslie and Margaret (McLean) Wood. Vernon served in the U.S. Army, and on February 9, 1946, he married Alice L. Louden. He had been a self-employed painter, and had lived in the Ripon area most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of Ripon; 1 son, Brian Wood of Ripon; special friend, Tony Frommelt of Ripon; 2 daughters, Pat St. James of FL and Bonnie Weninger of Lomira; brother, Milton Wood of Ripon; and sister, Shirley Kubek of Milwaukee. His parents preceded him in death.
Private graveside services were held at Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery, Town of Metomen with Rev. Gerald Schrankler officiating.
