Viola Esther Sophia Bluemke, 97, formerly of the Rosendale area, died Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2001, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
She was born October 25, 1903, in Rosendale, a daughter to Charles and Johanna Jennie (Wasmund) Webster. She received her education in Rosendale. On October 10, 1923, she married Walter W. Bluemke at Rogersville Church. In addition to being a housewife, Viola also had been an operator at the Rosendale telephone directory for six years and compiled the first telephone directory for Rosendale. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale, past President and member of E.L.C.A. Ladies Aid, and former Morseville 4-H Leader.
Viola is survived by nephews, Leslie & June Hageman of Ripon and Kenneth & Jennie Neumann of Beaver Dam; many other dear nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Walter W. Bluemke on December 14, 1983.
Funeral service for Viola E. Bluemke will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale with Reverend Charles R. Thompson officiating. Family and friends may call Wednesday, from 9:30 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale. Memorials to Peace Lutheran church.
