Violet Fisher

Violet Lilla Fisher, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.

Violet was born February 20, 1924, to Arthur and Clara (Klawitter) Judas, in the Town of Mecan, Marquette Co. She was baptized at 3 days old and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Princeton in 1938. She was educated in the Princeton school district and graduated from Princeton High School in 1942. Violet attended Milwaukee Vocational School and then worked as a timekeeper at the Milwaukee Ordinance Plant during WWII. On May 27, 1945, she was united into marriage with James E. Fisher in Princeton. Violet then joined Jim in farming and raising a family on their Green Lake Township farm. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Lake and Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in N. Ft. Myers, Florida. Throughout, the years Violet was employed in the finance and administrative areas at many local businesses such as; Speed Queen, First National Bank, Berg Electric Co., and Fairwater Canning Co. Violet helped organize and was a Charter member of the Girl Scouts in Princeton. She was also a member of the Green Lake Center homemakers where she held numerous offices. She was an avid bowler for 25 years in the Ripon Women’s and Eldorado mixed leagues. For the past several years she was a member of the Golden Girls. Violet spent the last 30 years of the winter months in the N. FT. Myers, Florida where she enjoyed many activities such as bingo, cards, and crafts and was a proud member of the Red Hats.

She is survived by her son Thomas J. (Martha) Fisher, of Madison; three grand children; Tanya Kiepe (Rob Tregay) of Prescott, Heather (Mike) Olson of Hill Point, Phillip J. (Brianna) Fisher of Deforest, two step-grandchildren; Travis Campbell of Missoula, MT, and Beth Campbell of Madison, and six great-grandchildren; Brittany, Hanna, Isabella, Lindsay, Ameira and Liam. Two sister’s Dorothy (Bill) Daye of Princeton, and Alice (Bill) Seeliger of Berlin, one son-in-law, Robert Kiepe of Green Lake, three sisters-in-law; Gwendolyn Pahl, Annagene Priske, Betty Lou Bradley, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James, daughter Becky Keipe, her parents Arthur and Clara Judas and her in-laws Hazen and Luella Fisher.

Visitation for Violet L. Fisher will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Lake.

Funeral Service for Violet L. Fisher will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Lake with the Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. In lieu of flowers please make Memorials to Green Lake, Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, N. FT. Myers Florida.
