Violet Marie Specht, age 93, graduated to Heaven on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon, WI.
Violet was born November 23, 1921 in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Ruppel) Mertz. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School and later attended cosmetology school in Milwaukee and was a beautician in the Sheboygan area. Violet married Wilmer G. Specht on September 5, 1942 in Sheboygan at her parents’ home; they celebrated 72 years of marriage in 2014. Previous to living in Ripon, she was a resident of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Cheshire, CT, and Freeport, IL. While in Freeport, she attended the Park Hills Evangelical Free Church and was active in the Ambassador Sunday School Class, Friendship Circle, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her husband, Wilmer; sons, John Specht of Ripon, WI, Jerry (Judy) Specht of Markesan, WI and daughter, Janet (Chet) Rawson of Markesan; two grandchildren, Michelle (Kelley) Drake and Max (Kelly) Rawson; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Rawson, Brody, Bennett and Nathan Drake; a niece and two nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation for Violet Marie Specht will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, from 10 – 11: 00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 777 Harvey St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Violet Marie Specht will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon. Reverend Art Volkmann will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 777 Harvey St., Ripon, WI 54971.
