Viona R. Grandt, 88, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon, WI.
Viona was born on June 23, 1920, in Nashville, TN, the daughter of Jesse and Lulu (Hickman) Young. She attended school in Nashville, TN, and was the owner/operator of a Chicago Night Club called the 606 Club, a home maker, she held upper level factory worker positions in Schiller Park, IL, and Berlin, WI, and a church volunteer belonging to various church groups. In July 1950, she married Donald G. Grandt, Sr. in Franklin Park, IL. She resided in White House, TN, Chicago, IL, Berlin, Oshkosh, and Ripon, WI over her life time.
Survivors include her son, Don (Carol) Grandt of Ripon, WI; two grandsons, Thad (Shannon Henning-Grandt) Grandt, of Ripon, WI, and Torey (Carolyn Manning-Grandt) Grandt of Bainbridge Island, WA; four great-grandchildren, Savanah Grandt-Beier and Gavin Grandt-Beier both of Markesan, WI, and Madison and Reed Grandt both of Bainbridge Island, WA. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews, and nephews Bradshaw/Pate of Nashville, TN. Viona was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Don Grandt, Sr. in July 1997.
