Virginia Ellen “Ginny” Lehman, age 86, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at her home.
Ginny was born October 25, 1926, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Bruno and Katharine (Tibbals) Jacob. She was a graduate of Ripon High School. On April 10, 1948, Ginny married Russell Lehman. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Ginny was an active and lifelong member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, being involved with the United Methodist Women and volunteering in the office. Ginny was a devoted patron of the Ripon Public Library, and loved tending to her backyard wildlife sanctuary. She enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers and feeding the birds.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Elliott, and former son-in-law Craig Elliott, Brown Deer, WI; sons, David Lehman, Thornton, CO, and Steven Lehman and wife Nancy McCann, Thetford Center, VT; beloved and devoted grandson, Andrew Elliott, Brown Deer, WI; granddaughters, Eleanor and Katherine Lehman of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Richard “Bicky” (Donna) Jacob, Mt. Vernon, IA; brother-in-law, Keith Caldwell; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Jacob; nieces and nephews, Martha Jacob, Brian Jacob, Tenaya Bolin, David Caldwell, Peter Caldwell, Anne Caldwell, and Christopher Caldwell. She is further survived by her devoted friends and neighbors, Heather and Dave Benesh, Ripon, WI; friend and handyman, Kurt Schwant, Ripon, WI, as well as many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Patricia “Tuny” Caldwell, and Doris Posner; and brother, Robert.
Inurnment and graveside services for Virginia Lehman will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 12:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in the city of Ripon. Pastor Joshua Pegram will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Bay Area Humane Society, 1830 Radisson Street, Green Bay, WI 54302, or any Humane Society of your choice; Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, WI 54971; and Ripon Public Library, 120 Jefferson Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
