Virginia Sutter

Virginia Lorraine Sutter, age 78, of Ripon, passed away Saturday, August 10, 1991, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.

She was born October 6, 1912, in Owen, WI, a daughter of the late Del and Georgina (Chabot) Richardson. She attended schools in the Owen area. On June 9, 1934, she was united in marriage to Eugene Sutter. Together they enjoyed their wedded years until his death on September 5, 1986. Since 1987, Virginia has made Ripon her home. Throughout her life she has been active in volunteer organizations including the library board, D.A.R., and Clark County Hospital. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Ripon and St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen. Her friends and relatives alike, acknowledge that she had been known for her bright, inquisitive mind.

Survivors include one son, Jonathon (Marjorie) Sutter of Neenah, one daughter, Cynthia (Darrel) Ebert of Ripon; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Richardson of Park Ridge, IL and William Richardson of Redgranite; one sister, Vivian McIntire of Van Nuys, CA. One daughter, Gretchen and one brother, Lawrence preceded her in death.

Friends may call Tuesday, August 13, 1991, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Services for Mrs. Sutter will be held Tuesday, August 13, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Robert J.C. Brown will officiate. Interment will be Wednesday, August 14, 1991, in Owen. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society in memory of her daughter, Gretchen.
